The law firm of Akin, Webster & Matson, P.C. in Macon, Georgia offers a wealth of experience in bankruptcy law with a combined experience of over 50 years in its partners. Danny Akin, Joy Webster and Robert Matson each bring unique experience and background to the firm and offer services that are tailored to the individual or corporation in order to bring about the best possible resolution. Danny Akin was born in Carrollton, Georgia and moved to Macon in 1976. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 1974 and his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1979. He served the Macon community as a law clerk from 1979-1980 at Probate Court and then clerked for The Honorable Robert F. Hershner, Jr. in Bankruptcy Court from 1981-1982, after which he began a law practice with Zack Dozier in 1982. In 1994, Akin founded Akin & Webster with attorney Joy Webster, who had also been working with Dozier. Akin is a member of the Macon Bar Association and the Augustus Bootle American Inn of Court.

Joy Webster was born in Griffin, Georgia and moved to Macon in 1982. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and English from Tift College and her Juris Doctorate from Mercer's Walter F. George School of Law in 1985. Upon graduation, she began serving the Macon community with Georgia Legal Services and remained there until 1989, after which she served with the United States Trustees Office from 1989 until 1993. Webster currently maintains membership in the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the Macon Bar Association, and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.

Robert Matson was born in Miami, Florida and moved to Macon in 1994. He received his Bachelors Degree in Economics from Emory University in Atlanta and then began serving as a law clerk at Akin & Webster while attending Mercer’s Walter F. George School of Law. He joined the firm as a partner in 1996 after receiving his Juris Doctorate. Matson has completed the requirements of the American Board of Certification and is now recognized as a Board Certified Expert in Consumer Bankruptcy Law, the only attorney with this distinction in Macon or Warner Robins. Matson is a member of the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the Macon Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

The vast majority of the firm's practice is devoted to representing individuals and corporations that are debtors in bankruptcy cases. "At Akin, Webster & Matson, P.C., your case will be handled by an attorney, not a paralegal or administrative assistant," said Webster.
