"A Pastor Chosen by God"
First Baptist Church Celebrates the 13th Anniversary of Pastor James W. Goolsby, Jr.

First Baptist Church will honor Pastor James W. Goolsby, Jr. for his tireless commitment and outstanding service to his congregation and community on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 595 New Street, Macon, GA.

James W. Goolsby, Jr. serves as the 27th pastor of First Baptist Church since the church was established in 1835. First Baptist Church was blessed with a beautiful marriage of church and pastor when God chose Pastor Goolsby to begin his pastorate in April 2004. God has used Pastor Goolsby to serve and lead others to Christ, to usher in a spirit of genuine love for the people of God, to shape and stabilize an atmosphere of true worship, praise and fellowship, to re-establish and add new ministries, to increase church membership and active participation, and to increase Bible Study attendance.

Pastor Goolsby serves as Moderator of the Middle Georgia Orthodox Missionary Baptist Association, faculty member of the State Congress of Christian Education of the GMBC of GA, Inc., member of the New Baptist Covenant, and member of the Macon-Bibb Mayor’s Council of Clergy.

First Baptist Church invites you to attend this special celebration on May 7th, and join us in thanking Pastor Goolsby for his sacrificial dedication, spiritual teaching and wise counsel.

The 11:00 a.m. morning worship will feature a message by Minister James McCrary - First Baptist Church’s Minister of Music. Everyone is invited to stay for the 2:00 p.m. celebration worship service featuring the dynamic Dr. I. Edwin Mack, pastor of the Unionville Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, GA. A feast and fellowship will be served from 12:30 to 1:45 - between services.

"And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding." Jeremiah 3:15

Join in the worship, praise, and fellowship as the First Baptist Church family celebrates and thank God for the shepherd He sent to serve His people.
