Elaine Lucas Macon City Council Member
Outspoken and always honest, Elaine Lucas has served the city of Macon for many years. Married to State Representative David Lucas for almost 31 years, she first began serving on the city council from 1983 to 1987, and has now been on the council since 1991. Representing Ward 1, Post 3, Elaine is responsible for Appropriations, Community Resources and Development, and Ordinances and Resolutions. She is also an advocate for STAND (Students Together Against Negative Decisions), a 32-hour course in HIV/AIDS, STDs, and pregnancy prevention that trains teen opinion leaders to be role models and peer educators who promote abstinence and risk reduction with their friends.
