After she and her husband, Steven, became the parents of their Down syndrome-stricken son, Jacob, Heidi Moore gave up a lucrative career in the oil industry and became Jacob's #1 advocate.  She also became an advocate for children with special needs all over the state of Georgia, tirelessly working to keep in place existing services for families in danger of losing much-needed help due to state budget cuts.  In for the long run, Heidi has rallied a coalition of families and organizations to her cause, increasing her email list from 150 names to more than 2,000 families and organizations.
