Renee Lewis Glover
CEO of the Atlanta Housing Authority
In 2002, Renee Glover received national
recognition for her efforts in leading public-private partnerships
that revitalized some of Atlanta's worst neighborhoods and
benefitted the families that lived in them. Her influence on
U.S. urban policy in this area has been outstanding, moving Good
Housekeeping magazine to report that "When Glover took on her job in
1994, Atlanta's public housing ranked among the worst in the
nation. Today, thanks to her imaginative plan that draws on
public dollars and private development to create mixed-use
communities for middle and lower-income families, the federal
housing department gives the city highest marks."
