quarter-million dollar lottery win. Joyce
Garrett-Williams, a registered nurse, won a $250,000 top

Check.
Fast Mart, 3730 Highway 124 in
Snellville, sold the winning ticket.
It was a treat, she exclaimed. I
saw all of those zeros, and my eyes
bucked.
Garrett-Williams, 52, and her
husband, Edward, plan to share the prize with their two
adult children, who both are recent college graduates.
She plans to invest the remainder.
Since its
first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned
more than $10.5 billion to the state of
Georgia for
education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for
specific educational programs including
Georgias HOPE
Scholarship Program and
Georgias Pre-K
Program. More than 1.1 million students have received
HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended
the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten
program.
