lottery win. Elda Bryan-De Gammie, 40, played the Georgia
Lottery instant game Wild
Cherry Doubler and won
$40,000.

, sold the lucky ticket.
“We
were just passing by when we got the ticket,” she said.
“I scratched it at home and was really excited when I
saw that I’d won.”

Gammie and her husband, Terry, have no immediate plans
for their lottery win.
“It
feels great to win the lottery,” she exclaimed.
Since
its first year, the Georgia
Lottery Corporation has returned over
$10.1 billion to the state of
Georgia
for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for
specific educational programs including
Georgia
’s HOPE Scholarship
Program and Georgia
’s Pre-K Program. More than 1 million students have
received HOPE, and more than 860,000 4-year-olds have
attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten
program.
