A
retired Rome
plant worker has landed a lifelong lottery win. Earl
Brown, 67, won $52,000 a year for life playing Win For
Life. He matched all six winning numbers in the June 20
Win For Life drawing and will receive $1,000 a week for
the rest of his life.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet, but I’m excited,” said
Brown, who worked for the Bekaert Corp. for 29
years.
Brown purchased his lucky numbers from Big H
Food, 127 E. 12th St. in
Rome , where he chose the
Quik Pik option. Winning numbers from the June 20 Win
For Life drawing were: 9-12-17-18-33-35 and the Free
Ball was 16.
He watched the televised drawing and checked the
numbers as they were called.
“I listened as the numbers were called, then I
waited until it was televised again,” he said. “I had to
see it again to believe it.”
Brown and his wife, Joann, have been married 44
years and have a 38-year-old daughter. He plans to pay
bills with his winnings.
“Anytime I win something I feel lucky,” he
shared. “I consider this a special win for me.”
