Attorney Charles E. Jones recently announced
his candidacy for superior court judge in the Macon Judicial
Circuit. Attorney Jones will be running for the
seat that is being vacated by The Honorable Tommy Day
Wilcox who is not seeking re-election.
Charles was born and raised in Steele,
Missouri. He earned bachelors and a masters degree
at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Charles
earned his law degree at Georgia State
University.
Charles co-founded Jones & Oliver, PC with his
wife, Mary Jo Oliver Jones in January of 1994 and has
maintained that successful law practice in Fort
Valley. The firm primarily handles municipal,
civil, criminal, real estate and probate law. Attorney
Jones has practiced at every level of court in the state
including the Georgia Supreme Court.
Charles lists coaching youth sports as his
favorite hobby. He has been actively involved in
youth baseball, football and basketball. He also
enjoys golf in his spare time and teaches Sunday school
at Fellowship Bible Baptist in Warner Robins, GA.
Charles and Mary Jo have 3 sons, Chris, Ken and
Will.
The election for this seat will be held on
November 7, 2006.
