Grace Corner… Happy… NEW Creation!

As I look back over this year with ALL it’s ups and downs, challenges and even victories, one thing stands out…the importance of having a personal relationship with God! During those times when things just didn’t make sense and I find myself asking “God, what’s REALLY gooing on here?” I felt I was ‘doing’ the ‘right’ things…praying, attending church, reading my bible —yet when I had challenges (which seemed to last for months!), it felt like I wasn’t seen or heard…that God was far away. Attacks against my health, relationships, finances…all seem to speak louder than my faith!
Sound familiar? Have you noticed these ‘feelings’ appear even stronger around the CHRISTmas season when our Hearts and Minds are focused on JESUS?! When this happens, we should do just that…look to Jesus! When we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we ARE a NEW creation; old things (and ways of thinking) have passed away; behold all things have become new (II Cor 5:17). We renew our minds with the Word of God to discover the new creation we’ve become (Rom 12:2). “For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus) (II Cor 5:21)
So now you see what the ‘fight’ is about—your NEW identity in Christ Jesus! The enemy want you to continue to identify with the ‘old man’ and not realize who you are and your inheritance as a new creation! Satan always want us to think we’re powerless instead of the POWERFUL spirits we are once we’re born again. So even when the xray or doctor’s report says one thing, you are a NEW creation so by Jesus’ stripe you are healed! If you lost your job and bills are due, you are a NEW creation so our God supplies ALL your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19). Feeling lonely, you are a NEW creation knowing that He Himself (God) has said “I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you” (Heb 13:5b). Sometimes, you just want PEACE—peace in your mind, heart and soul…you are a NEW creation and Isa 26:3 NLT assures us that (God) will keep in perfect peace all who trust in (Him), all whose thoughts are fixed on (Him)! How cool is that?!! God will do the work in and for us if we keep our minds on Him!
Beloved, as we start into a new year, let’s remember we are a NEW creation in Christ Jesus. Maintaining and embracing our relationship with God will always be important in this journey called life! Our authentic identity IN Christ Jesus, truly makes us a Happy…NEW Creation…indeed!
