The Church of God in Christ Celebrates AIM!

AIM is the acronym for “Auxiliaries in Ministries.” The Church of God in Christ will be hosting its AIM, Auxiliaries in Ministries convention here in our Middle Georgia location at 2938 Gray Highway in East Macon. This is an event for the entire family. There will be youth Bible bowl competitions, spelling bees, art competitions, Math competitions, speech, vocal art, and drama. We are even offering an adult version of our famed Bible Bowl competition All finalists will advance to the International AIM Convention to be held this summer in Indianapolis, IN.
It’s a must-see event. The AIM Convention will commence on June 13-17. The convention will begin on Tuesday, June 13 with the excitement of a city-wide Gospel Musical extravaganza of epic proportion led by our Jurisdictional President of the Music Department, Sister Mary Neville. The AIM convention will continue the entire week showcasing training, workshops, and worship sponsored by the five major departments of the church: Sunday School, Youth, Evangelism, Music, and Missions. These five departments constitute the Auxiliaries in Ministry within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC).
There will be day sessions at 10 am via zoom and in-person evening sessions at 6pm. Come hear Pastor Gary Sprewell, the International President of the Department of Evangelism (Los Angeles CA), Dr. Donald Sheppard, Ph.D., (Tallahassee, FL) the Regional President of the Sunday School, various workshop presenters, and preaching par excellence concluding with our phenomenal prelate, Bishop Ronald B. Engram.
Our AIM executive committee has been working untiringly to prepare a convention second to none. The AIM Committee is composed of AIM Chairman, Supt. Alfred Miller (Valdosta), Vice-Chair Pastor Calvin Hilliard IV, Scholastic Motivation Chairlady, Missionary Kim Miller, Music Department President- Missionary Mary Nevills, Sunday School Department President- Elder Carlos McCloud, D. Min., Youth Department President-Deacon Brandon Thomas, Missions Department President-Pastor Nathaniel Jordan, and Department of Evangelism President-Superintendent Robert Spencer. This event is sponsored by the Southern Georgia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, our prelate is Bishop Ronald Engram, our sainted Supervisor of Women is Dr. Barbara Smith.
We are five auxiliaries in one convention. This convention includes the almost 70 churches that comprise our jurisdiction. Our jurisdiction is further sub-divided into districts. The Church of God in Christ is a predominately African American religious organization with its headquarters in Memphis Tennessee. Our international Presiding Bishop and Chief Apostle is the Bishop J. Drew Sheard husband of Karen Clark-Sheard (Detroit, MI).
